Join Nisa Foundation as a Telephone Support Assistant, providing critical crisis support from Calgary in a remote role. Engage with women and families in need through our centralized triage line.
As part of the team reporting to the Director of Programs, you will facilitate support via phone and online communication. Ideal for social work or psychology students, this role includes comprehensive training in crisis management and effective communication. You will gain hands-on experience while answering calls, assessing needs, and providing referrals.
Key Responsibilities:
• Answer calls and texts during assigned shifts
• Conduct triage assessments using approved scripts
• Route callers based on their needs and safety indications
• Offer emotional support along with accurate resource referrals
• Provide service in English and another language
Requirements:
• Current or recent graduate in related academic fields
• Strong skills for engaging in sensitive topics
• Professional demeanor in stressful environments
• Multilingual skills are a strong advantage
• Must fulfill legal eligibility to work in Canada
