Violence Support Advisor

Position: Full-Time Role: Violence Support Advisor
The University of Calgary seeks a dedicated Sexual and Gender-Based Violence Support Advisor for a temporary full-time role. This position is focused on delivering crisis support, training, and community outreach.

You will collaborate closely with various departments while providing essential support for students experiencing sexual and gender-based violence. Your responsibilities will include managing casework, fostering relationships, and developing educational materials that resonate with diverse audiences.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create and maintain a supportive atmosphere for survivors

• Conduct workshops on critical topics related to sexual violence

• Manage communication and scheduling for the support office

• Ensure client confidentiality and proper file management

• Advocate for victims within academic settings

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s in social work or relevant area

• 2 years working with survivors of gender-based violence

• Trauma-informed and empathetic approach to cases

• Familiarity with advocacy and outreach techniques

• Criminal Record Check with vulnerable sector search needed
