Educational Child and Youth Care Counsellor

This role offers the chance to work with youth facing emotional and mental health challenges. Emphasizing a trauma-informed and strength-based approach, the Counsellor will deliver individualized instruction and develop behavioral support plans. Strong collaboration with students, families, and colleagues is key to improving students' academic and behavioral success.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide psycho-educational instruction individually or in small groups
• Supervise and support students during transitions and activities
• Develop group activities for leisure and therapeutic engagement
• Implement and evaluate individual behavioral support plans
• Utilize crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques when necessary
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Human Services or Social Sciences
• Experience with youth and mental health challenges preferred
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Valid Alberta driver’s license and clear security checks
• Completion of related certifications an asset
