Indigenous Awake Overnight

Position: Indigenous Awake Overnight Staff
Become a vital member of Closer To Home Community Services as an Indigenous Awake Overnight Staff in Calgary. Support Indigenous youth in a culturally safe environment while ensuring their safety and daily needs.

This role is part of a community group care program designed for Indigenous youth. As a key team member, you'll engage with children and youth, implementing strategies that promote their well-being. Responsibilities include monitoring safety, managing crises, and documenting critical incidents, all while building meaningful relationships centered on Indigenous cultural practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure safety and daily needs of youth

• Conduct hourly room checks and document findings

• Investigate unusual night time activities

• Implement skill development strategies

• Manage crises and maintain records

Requirements:

• Diploma or degree in a related field preferred

• Experience with vulnerable children and families

• Knowledge of trauma-informed care principles

• Understanding of Indigenous culture and practices

• Valid Class 5 Alberta driver’s license and personal vehicle
