Empower women and children at YW Calgary's Crisis Shelter as a Women's Support Partner. This evening position provides trauma-informed care and support to individuals facing domestic violence.
The Women's Support Partner role involves collaborative teamwork within the shelter environment. You'll utilize client-centered approaches to assist residents in various capacities, answering crisis line calls and conducting necessary intakes. Your commitment will help create safe, inclusive spaces for women and children impacted by violence.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide trauma-informed support to shelter residents
• Answer calls on the 24-hour crisis line
• Conduct resident intake, including risk assessments
• Maintain positive relations and support daily needs
• Ensure safety and monitor shelter security
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in social work or related field
• First Aid and CPR certification required within 6 months
• Knowledge of trauma-informed practices
• Experience with domestic violence and crisis intervention
• Strong communication skills for diverse clientele
