This position involves hands-on caregiving, case management, and planning for transition within group homes. You will uphold trauma-informed principles, facilitating recreational and educational activities while teaching essential life skills and fostering supportive relationships. Flexibility during shifts is vital, as relief staff are expected to work at least 2 shifts monthly with the potential for 40 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide caregiving and support based on trauma-informed principles
• Teach life skills including hygiene, cooking, and money management
• Coordinate daily needs like meals, laundry, and appointments
• Facilitate access to community resources and activities
• Help navigate relationships with natural supports
Requirements:
• Diploma or Degree in Human Services
• Experience with youth, especially Indigenous communities
• Strong relationship-building and communication skills
• Current First Aid and Suicide Intervention certifications
• Valid driver’s license with three years’ experience
