Educational Child And Youth Care Counsellor

Join Hull Services as a full time Educational Child and Youth Care Counsellor in Calgary. Engage with students and provide vital support in a therapeutic environment over a 10.5-month schedule. This role offers the chance to work with youth facing emotional and mental health challenges.

Emphasizing a trauma-informed and strength-based approach, the Counsellor will deliver individualized instruction and develop behavioural support plans. Robust collaboration with students, families, and colleagues is key to improving students' academic and behavioral success.

• Provide psycho-educational instruction individually or in small groups
• Supervise and support students during transitions and activities
• Develop group activities for leisure and therapeutic engagement
• Implement and evaluate individual behavioural support plans
• Utilise crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques when necessary

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Human Services or Social Sciences
• Experience with youth and mental health challenges preferred
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Valid Alberta driver's licence and transparent security checks
• Completion of related certifications an asset
