Position Summary

Muslim Food Bank & Community Services is seeking a compassionate, organized, and community‑minded Senior Caseworker Coordinator to support the ASPIRE Case Management Program in Calgary, Alberta. The Senior Caseworker Coordinator is responsible for supporting case management operations, mentoring volunteer caseworkers, coordinating training and resources, and assisting with urgent, sensitive, and complex client cases. This role helps ensure strong program coordination, accurate documentation, effective volunteer support, and quality service delivery.

This position may be offered on a part‑time or full‑time basis, depending on program needs and candidate availability.

Key Responsibilities Volunteer Caseworker Support and Coordination
  • Monitor volunteer caseworker status, engagement, retention, and case‑related updates.
  • Conduct check‑in calls with volunteer caseworkers who are on break.
  • Ensure volunteer caseworker information is accurate and up to date in Salesforce.
  • Support volunteer retention strategies, relationship‑building, and re‑engagement of former volunteer caseworkers.
  • Monitor the Volunteer Caseworker Whats App group to ensure communication remains appropriate, relevant, and professional.
  • Facilitate volunteer caseworker training sessions.
  • Support and facilitate caseworker training, including attendance tracking and follow‑up.
  • Organize and facilitate monthly skills development meetings for volunteer caseworkers.
  • Select monthly meeting themes and coordinate guest facilitators as needed.
  • Advertise meetings, send recap emails, record attendance, prepare meeting notes, and upload training materials.
  • Update and maintain local Calgary and Alberta community resource information based on staff and program needs.
Senior Caseworker and Program Support
  • Support and mentor senior caseworkers with resources, referrals, and complex case needs.
  • Assist with referrals and intake tracking processes, ensuring information remains current and organized.
  • Support quality case documentation and proper use of Salesforce case notes.
  • Help ensure ASPIRE Case Management Program procedures are followed consistently by the team.
  • Coordinate with operations staff, casework supervisors, assistant managers, managers, and directors as required.
  • Provide updates to ASPIRE leadership as needed.
  • Support team communication, coordination, and follow‑through to strengthen service delivery.
  • Help identify service gaps, resource needs, and process improvements within the program.
Case Management Support
  • Provide direct case management support for urgent, sensitive, and complex cases.
  • Support clients experiencing challenges such as domestic violence, homelessness, disability‑related needs, mental health concerns, children at risk, adult guardianship concerns, financial hardship, and other vulnerable circumstances.
  • Coordinate with relevant authorities, agencies, and community partners when required.
  • Consult with senior operations staff or registered professionals when appropriate.
  • Supervise and guide volunteer caseworkers by providing support, resources, and direction for their cases.
  • Help ensure clients are supported with dignity, confidentiality, compassion, and professionalism.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure case updates are documented according to program standards.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Education or experience in case management, community services, human services, social services, non‑profit work, or a related field.
  • Background in social work is considered an asset, but is not required.
