Outreach Worker

Position: Full-Time Outreach Worker at Alpha House
Make a difference with Alpha House as a Full-Time Outreach Worker, supporting Calgary's vulnerable communities through compassionate outreach and crisis management. This role involves working three days on and three days off each week.

This term position lasts for three months with a focus on providing empathetic support to clients, engaging in encampments, and collaborating with partner agencies. You will conduct housing assessments, advocate for clients, and transport them as needed. Your ability to navigate various terrains in different weather conditions will be vital for effective client support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide non-judgmental support to clients in need

• Conduct sweeps and engage with vulnerable populations

• Respond to crises and monitor distress situations

• Maintain case notes and performance reports

• Facilitate educational sessions with community partners

Requirements:

• 2-year diploma or degree in a relevant field

• 1 year of experience in assessments or case management

• Knowledge of harm reduction and mental health care

• Class 5 driver license (Class 4 preferred)

• Physically fit to assist clients in various conditions
