Peer Support Worker

Become a vital Peer Support Worker with The Mustard Seed in Calgary. You will assist individuals navigating addiction challenges, providing crucial support for their community reintegration journey.

This part-time role involves building rapport and offering practical guidance to clients transitioning from provincial remand centres. Collaborating with social workers and advocates, you will help stabilize clients through connection to resources and personalized support tailored to their unique situations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Connect continuously with clients for ongoing support

• Build rapport and assist in achieving identified goals

• Provide a welcoming space for clients to express concerns

• Assist clients in developing daily living skills

• Maintain outreach with social service agencies and healthcare providers

Requirements:

• Diploma or undergraduate degree in related field

• Minimum 1 year experience with marginalized populations

• Strong communication and crisis management skills

• Valid Class 5 driver's license with clean abstract

• Passion for addressing homelessness in Alberta
