Transitions Caseworker

Position: Full-Time Transitions Caseworker at Alpha House
Embrace a rewarding career as a Full-Time Transitions Caseworker with Alpha House, working 7pm-7am to transform lives by supporting clients to overcome homelessness. Utilize your case management expertise and strong interpersonal skills to help individuals achieve housing stability and independent living.

In this frontline role, you will employ a Housing First approach as part of the Housing Transitions Team. Your responsibilities include personalized case management, securing housing, and providing life skills support. Collaborate with community resources, manage transportation, and maintain accurate documentation for client success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Engage proactively with clients to assess their needs

• Assist clients in scheduling viewings and signing leases

• Support individuals in overcoming practical barriers to housing

• Provide one-on-one life skills and recovery support

• Maintain regular check-ins and accurate documentation

Requirements:

• Diploma in a social science discipline or relevant experience

• 1+ years in addictions or mental health support

• Strong case management and communication skills

• Knowledge of Calgary’s housing and social services

• Physically able to assist clients and lift items
