Youth Recovery Counsellor

Position: Youth Recovery Counsellor at Hull Services
Join Hull Services as a temporary full-time Child and Youth Care Counsellor in the Youth Recovery Program. Support youth dealing with substance use and mental health issues in a structured setting.

This role focuses on providing care and support for youth aged 13 to 17, assisting them in a therapeutic environment. You will engage in recreational activities, supervision, and education, while also fulfilling administrative duties. The position offers morning and evening shifts for three months with possible extension.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support youth experiencing substance withdrawal and mental health challenges

• Organize and implement daily activities promoting therapeutic growth

• Facilitate structured recreational and group therapy sessions

• Model integrity, respect, and healthy living practices

• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to agency standards

Requirements:

• Degree or diploma in Human Services or Social Sciences

• Experience with high-risk youth preferred

• Understanding of substance use and mental health

• Clear police and child intervention checks required

• Effective communication skills and reliability
