Join The Salvation Army as a Resident Support Team Lead in Calgary, AB. This role emphasizes resident advocacy, support supervision, and managing a safe environment at a shelter.
As a full-time leader, you will report to the Program Supervisor and ensure a welcoming atmosphere for men in the Men’s Shelter Program. Your responsibilities include overseeing staff and volunteers, assisting with resident assessments, and maintaining updated training materials. Your leadership will contribute significantly to the shelter’s success and the residents' overall experience.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct resident assessments and goal-setting sessions
• Provide on-the-job training to new staff and volunteers
• Monitor and advocate for residents' needs and progress
• Perform monthly audits of resident files and medication
• Participate in staff meetings and case reviews
Requirements:
• Two years of Community College education in social services
• Previous supervisory experience in a relevant field
• Alberta First Aid and CPR certification
• Must pass Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Search
• Strong skills in communication and conflict resolution
