The Role:Developmental Wellness Worker (Full-time)
Trellis Society seeks Developmental Wellness Workers to aid our 24/7 Residential and Shelter Programs. Support Workers help clients improve their quality of life and define what success looks like for them. The position involves supporting 24-hour, Recovery-Oriented, and Housing-Focused programs for youth and adults.
This position generally requires a 36-hour work week, with either three 12-hour shifts per week or four 9-hour shifts.
- Three 12-hour shifts per week (Friday, Saturday and Sunday): 7:00 pm – 7:00 am OR 7:00 am – 7:00 pm
- Four 9‑hour shifts per week: 7:00 am – 4:00 pm, 2:00 pm – 11:00 pm, 3:00 pm – 12:00 am, 10:00 pm – 7:00 am, 11:00 pm – 8:00 am OR 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
- Three 12‑hour weekend shifts (Saturday, Sunday and Monday): 8:00 am – 8:00 pm OR 8:00 pm – 8:00 am
- Mandatory attendance for Monthly Team Meetings.
- Provide support to clients who are ending their experience with homelessness.
- Support clients in building life skills such as cooking, cleaning, employment, education, and budgeting.
- Intervene and de‑escalate crisis situations as they occur.
- Utilize Recovery‑Oriented and Trauma‑Informed practices to mitigate client risks.
- Act as a liaison between natural supports, families, social workers, doctors, and other professionals involved with clients.
- Timely completion of case notes, safety planning, and Reportable Incidents reports.
- Plan, implement, and participate in client‑driven program activities.
- Attend required training opportunities within the appropriate timeframe and monthly team meetings.
- Provide transportation to and from appointments, programs, and activities, ensuring safety and punctuality.
- Other duties as required.
- Degree or diploma in Human Services with recent and relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and ability to learn database systems.
- Concise and clear communication (verbal and written) and problem‑solving skills.
- Experience or in‑depth understanding of Recovery‑Oriented and Trauma‑Informed Practices.
- Up‑to‑date Standard First Aid and Level C CPR training.
- Ability to provide a clear Criminal Record Check with vulnerable sector search and Child Intervention Record Check.
- Access to reliable vehicle with a $2M liability insurance and a valid Class 5 Driver's License.
This position directly reports to a 24/7 Program Manager.
