Join YW Calgary as a Program Support Worker focused on improving the lives of women facing crises. This role requires compassionate presence and skilled crisis management over a weekend schedule.
Scheduled for Saturday and Sunday evenings from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., you will play an instrumental part in supporting women who experience challenges such as poverty and mental health issues. Your compassionate, trauma-informed approach will help foster a safe and empowering atmosphere while ensuring the smooth operation of support services.
Key Responsibilities:
• Create an inclusive environment respectful of diverse identities
• Build supportive, trusting relationships with residents
• Utilize grounding techniques in crisis situations
• Help clients articulate their goals with their Case Managers
• Manage documentation including critical incident reports
Requirements:
• Post-secondary degree in Human Services or similar
• 1-2 years of experience in a shelter setting
• Preferred training in gender-based violence intervention
• Strong communication and organizational abilities
• Experience with Microsoft Office and reporting tools
