Join Alpha House as a Full-Time Outreach Worker to support individuals facing addiction and mental health challenges in Calgary. Use your strong advocacy and crisis management skills to make a difference.
In this role, you will be part of a high-intensity team dedicated to engaging with vulnerable community members. Your responsibilities include conducting outreach, providing empathetic support, and collaborating with partner agencies on case management. Strong decision-making and independence are crucial for effectively addressing client needs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Engage clients in various encampments and support their needs
• Assist clients through crisis situations on-site
• Drive clients safely to necessary resources
• Conduct housing assessments and facilitate resources
• Represent Alpha House positively in the community
Requirements:
• Diploma or degree in Social Sciences or related field
• Minimum 1 year experience with outreach or crisis counseling
• Knowledge of addiction recovery practices
• Clear 5 Year Driver's Abstract for agency vehicles
• Physically capable to assist clients in all conditions
