Resident Support Worker - Relief Position

Join The Salvation Army as a Relief Resident Support Worker, where you'll impact the lives of those experiencing homelessness while promoting a safe and welcoming environment. Work in men’s or women’s shelters, focusing on compassionate support.

This role requires you to assist residents with their admission and orientation, conduct intake interviews, and ensure safety procedures are followed. You'll also engage with external partners to help connect residents to necessary resources while maintaining a clean, organized facility. Your efforts will directly contribute to creating a secure atmosphere for shelter users.

Key Responsibilities:

• Handle admission and orientation of residents

• Conduct intake interviews and set goals

• Monitor incoming traffic and enforce safety protocols

• Record daily events and complete documentation

• Maintain cleanliness and assist residents with concerns

Requirements:

• High school diploma and certification in First Aid

• Minimum of three months social service experience

• Police Information Check and Child Intervention Check

• Ability to handle stress and employ de-escalation techniques

• Proficient with MS Office applications
