Community Outreach Counsellor at YW

Make a difference as a Community Outreach Counsellor with YW Calgary. This role provides therapeutic counselling to individuals impacted by family violence, with flexible hybrid work options.

The Outreach Clinical Counsellor works closely with the Outreach team and community partners to deliver trauma-informed services through the Equally Safe initiative. This position involves using evidenced-based modalities to assist clients in facing their challenges while fostering healthier relationships. Candidates will utilize their expertise in mental health and crisis intervention to help individuals stabilize and improve their lives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver counselling for clients referred by the Equally Safe initiative

• Conduct short-term interventions focused on safety and stabilization

• Utilize cognitive-behavioral and solution-focused therapeutic modalities

• Collaborate with Calgary Police Service for coordinated care

• Manage referrals to YWCA and community resources

Requirements:

• Master's in Social Work, Counselling, or Clinical Psychology

• Minimum 2 years of counselling experience

• Knowledge of community resources and crisis intervention

• First Aid/CPR certifications required within 3 months

• Clear Police Information Check mandatory at hire
