Join Wood's Homes as a Family Support Counsellor I / II in Calgary, focusing on delivering impactful support services to families and children. Engage in community coordination and in-home assistance as needed.
In this vital role, you will address the needs of children and families in collaboration with other professionals. Your responsibilities will include advocacy, crisis intervention, and the provision of skills training to parents. You will participate actively in team meetings and clinical oversight to enhance service effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform assessments and establish collaborative goals
• Develop family resource networks through advocacy
• Train parents with supportive skills in sessions
• Intervene in crises for family safety as required
• Engage in regular supervision and teamwork
Requirements:
• Relevant degree in Human Sciences or related field
• Minimum of 2-4 years experience in a related role
• Preferred background in family support services
• Valid class 5 driver’s license and transportation
• Personal suitability for working with families
