Position: Support Worker for Mental Health Services
Join The Alex as a Support Worker in Calgary and empower individuals facing mental health barriers and homelessness. This permanent, part-time role engages with residents for meaningful, supportive care.

At The Alex, a community-based organization, the Support Worker aids those experiencing barriers to essential health and social services. You will foster resident independence through engagement, skill-building, and crisis management within low-barrier supportive housing. Your impact directly contributes to residents' wellbeing and recovery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support residents with daily needs and service plan goals

• Engage in skill-building group and one-on-one sessions

• Provide transportation assistance to necessary appointments

• Facilitate individual and group programming focused on wellbeing

• Conduct building safety checks and respond to crises

Requirements:

• Degree or Diploma in a related field is an asset

• Experience in crisis intervention and supportive housing preferred

• Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills

• Class 5 driver's license and clean driving record required

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
