Make a difference at Alpha House as a Relief Worker during overnight shifts, helping individuals in crisis situations. This role involves supporting clients with compassion in a challenging environment.
In this impactful position, you will address the needs of individuals accessing shelter services. Key tasks include overseeing admissions, monitoring client well-being, and responding to emergencies while adhering to trauma-informed care. Your professionalism and empathy will guide interactions with vulnerable populations in need of assistance and resources.
Key Responsibilities:
• Facilitate admissions and discharges for clients
• Monitor client well-being and response to withdrawal
• Manage crises effectively, focusing on de-escalation
• Engage clients respectfully and without judgment
• Share treatment option information and connect to resources
Requirements:
• Minimum 2-year degree in social sciences (or in progress)
• Capability to lift items and assist clients
• Valid Vulnerable Sector Search required
• Necessary certifications in FOIP and Patient Lift training
• Experience working with at-risk populations valued
