Position: Support Worker for Women at CJHS
Join Calgary John Howard Society (CJHS) as a Support Worker at Berkana House and help women reintegrate into the community. This vital role requires support through positive interactions and supervision of daily activities.

In this Relief Support Worker position, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the safety and well-being of residents. Engaging with women in a trauma-informed manner is essential, as is fostering an environment of empowerment and respect. Your background in women-centered practices and crisis management will contribute significantly to their successful transition.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure residents’ well-being and facility security

• Provide ongoing emotional and practical support

• Engage residents in community activities and supervision

• Model positive behaviors for healthy reintegration

• Assist with household chores as necessary

Requirements:

• Relevant education and/or experience in the field

• Knowledge of women-centered practices in criminal justice

• Excellent communication and boundary-setting skills

• Willingness to work all shifts, including overnights

• Must pass a criminal record check
