Alpha Overnight Support Worker

Position: Alpha House Overnight Support Worker
Become an Overnight Support Worker at Alpha House, where you will provide critical overnight care for individuals in need. Ensure a safe and supportive environment during shelter and detox services.

This role requires a commitment to working at least three shifts per month, with specific overnight hours. Your responsibilities will include assessing clients’ needs, managing crises, and providing compassionate support to those facing addiction issues. Leveraging your knowledge of community resources will enhance your ability to assist clients effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Handle admissions and discharges for clients under the influence

• Keep track of client safety and monitor their conditions

• Mitigate crises with effective de-escalation techniques

• Build respectful relationships with clients

• Offer insights on treatment options and community resources

Requirements:

• 2-year post-secondary degree or diploma in social sciences

• Ability to lift items up to 35 lbs

• Valid Vulnerable Sector Search necessary

• Certifications such as FOIP and Patient Lift training preferred

• Experience working with addictions or homeless individuals beneficial
