Become an Outreach Worker for vulnerable populations in Calgary with Alpha House's Beltline Outreach program. This permanent, full-time position offers the chance to work night shifts providing vital support in crisis situations.
In this role, you will be part of a dedicated team addressing the needs of individuals facing addiction and mental health challenges. Your work will include crisis response, advocacy, and transportation for clients, requiring strong decision-making skills and a compassionate demeanor. This outreach role demands independent thinking and the ability to engage effectively with community members.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide empathetic support to clients in distress
• Drive agency vehicles to assist with transportation needs
• Engage in outreach to vulnerable clients in various areas
• Advocate for clients while adhering to ethical standards
• Perform housing assessments and respond to crisis situations
Requirements:
• 2-year diploma or degree in a relevant field
• Strong knowledge of addiction and mental health issues
• Proven crisis management and outreach experience
• Clear Class 5 driver's license and driving record
• Physically capable of navigating rough outdoor terrain
