The Opportunity:

Reporting to the Program Director, the Money Matters Coordinator provides direct support to individuals living with cancer, their caregivers, and families as they navigate the financial and practical impacts of a cancer diagnosis.

This role is responsible for providing coordinated program services, including individualized case management support, eligibility screening, maintaining accurate records and resources, and contributing to outreach and awareness activities across Alberta.

The Coordinator works closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure members receive timely, accurate, and compassionate support aligned with Wellspring Alberta’s mission and program standards.

This role is a .8 FTE (four days per week) parental leave cover that goes until end of February 2028, with possibility of extension. It will be located at our Randy O’Dell House in SE Calgary.

Member Support & Case Management

• Provide individualized, person-centred support to Wellspring members and, where appropriate, the broader community
• Conduct intake, eligibility screening, and coordination for Money Matters clinics (e.g., Financial Advice, Employment Law, Wills, Income Tax)
• Support members in navigating financial programs and systems (e.g., EI, CPP, AISH/ADAP, LTD, Income Support)
• Maintain appropriate documentation of case files, interactions, and outcomes

Program Coordination & Delivery

• Coordinate referrals and scheduling in collaboration with the Money Matters team
• Support the delivery of Money Matters programming, including workshops and speaker series (e.g., Returning to Work, Legal and Employment sessions)
• Ensure resources, tools, and materials are current, accessible, and relevant to program delivery
• Contribute to ongoing program improvement through feedback and participation in training and network development

Outreach & Relationship Support

• Support outreach efforts to increase awareness of Money Matters services across Alberta
• Build and maintain relationships with healthcare providers, community organizations, and relevant stakeholders
• Act as an ambassador for Wellspring Alberta, promoting programs and services in community settings

Data, Reporting & Program Support

• Maintain accurate and timely data entry, reporting, and record-keeping aligned with organizational standards
• Contribute to stewardship and program reporting requirements
• Support tracking of program usage, trends, and outcomes to inform program effectiveness

Key Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in social work from a recognized post-secondary institution
• ACSW registration in good standing

Experience

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in social work or a related field
• Direct experience working with provincial and federal income replacement programs (e.g., EI, CPP, AISH/ADAP, Income Support)
• Experience providing case management and navigating complex systems
