Senior Java Software Engineer Lead

Job Description

Lead the team to deliver new products, features and fixes iteratively using an Agile Scrum approach working with the Product Owner, Scrum Master, Developers and QAs. Working with the architects and other developers, provide technical input to the Product Owner. Act as first point of escalation to ensure impediments are removed and team maintains development velocity and achieves committed sprint goals.

Communicate and elevate issues in a clear and timely manner. Team management including day to day and career development for team members. This is a hands‑on role and will be expected to take an active part in development work. Maintain an up‑to‑date knowledge of existing and emerging technologies relevant to the role. Working and collaborating with remote teams around the world.

• 10+ years of experience in software development of complex applications.
• 10+ years of Java and C++ development experience.
• Strong understanding of design principles, best practices, code reviews and quality checks.
• Familiarity with build pipeline tools such as Git Lab.
• Self‑motivated team player with excellent analytical, communication and problem‑solving skills.
• Team‑lead experience working with Agile delivery teams.
• Willing to coach junior members and cooperate on problem solving.
• Interest in leading a small team of software developers and QA engineers.

• Knowledge of Eclipse RCP and OSGi.
• Experience with Swing and SWT.
• Understanding of machine‑learning technologies (Python, Tensor Flow).
• Experience in Geophysics and/or Geology, especially Oil and Gas.
• Undergraduate degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.
• Agile Scrum certification.
• Experience working with remote teams.
• Advanced awareness of AI technologies/tools.
• Familiarity with modern cloud technologies and microservices.
