Location: Calgary, Alberta

Pay Rate: $98.63/hour (T4 classification; also considering INC classification where applicable)

Contract Length: 2 months, possible extension for the right candidate

Raise is currently hiring a Full Stack Developer on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader. Our client is an essential player in Alberta's Energy Industry, prioritizing safeguarding public safety and environmental integrity while fostering responsible, efficient, and secure energy development.

The Full Stack Developer in this role will join the Digital Transformation team for the One Stop 2.0 Delivery Projects. One Stop is the flagship integrated decision‑making platform that streamlines regulatory applications for Alberta’s energy sector. In this role, you will design, develop, and deploy scalable cloud‑based solutions using a modern technology stack. You will work within an Agile/Dev Ops environment, leveraging AI‑driven tools (Git Hub Copilot) to accelerate the delivery of cutting‑edge microservices and front‑end components.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in the design and implementation of full stack applications using a cloud‑based architectural framework
  • Analyze technical requirements, develop, test and deploy new software solutions or functional enhancements in a Dev Ops environment
  • Apply the development processes established by the team such as code revision, change management and all Dev Ops practices
  • Build and maintain Azure‑based front‑end, microservices and functions (Express/Node) back‑end using Azure Dev Ops Pipelines
  • Participate in building cutting‑edge micro‑services architecture following best‑in‑industry patterns
  • Design and develop front and back‑end components (service‑based using JavaScript framework)
  • Continuously learn and seek ways to improve, researching best practices and suggesting appropriate technologies
  • Contribute to product development, engage with team members and cross‑functional teams to define solutions, and estimate the scope of work required
  • Participate in code reviews, API design reviews, or technical reviews of product stories
  • Support best practices including unit testing and continuous delivery
  • Support the entire application lifecycle (concept, design, test, release and support)
Qualifications
  • 5+ years experience building full‑stack web projects with a significant focus on UI, back‑end code and business logic
  • 6+ years experience writing unit tests
  • 3+ years experience using Azure Dev Ops (e.g., Git source control, pull request, etc.)
  • Good knowledge of Cosmos DB, MS SQL Server, Kafka, microservices, micro‑frontends, Linux environment, Docker, Kubernetes, and Azure cloud overall
  • Determined to deliver products on time, according to pre‑established quality standards
  • Hands‑on experience in Node.

    JS and Type Script
  • Experience in design and development of scalable and secured web services that integrate with other technologies in a service‑oriented architecture
  • Experience designing, building, and maintaining RESTful APIs
  • Experience working with No

    SQL databases (Cosmos

    DB, Mongo

    DB, etc.)
  • Basic knowledge of Azure services (e.g., Storage, Resource Group, etc.)
  • Hands‑on experience with HTML5, CSS, React, Graph

    QL (Apollo), Webpack
  • Knowledge of modern authorization mechanisms, such as JSON Web Token
  • Experience with designing and developing UI components like login page, dashboards, landing pages, menu items, navigation‑based components, detailed screens with single and multi‑line data handling
  • Developers will be expected to leverage AI tools to enhance/increase productivity with their development workflows and will receive a Git Hub Copilot license to support this
  • Education and Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent years of specialized professional experience may be considered
