Our consumer business client in the transportation industry is seeking a Senior Developer (10+ years) to design and develop Java-based microservices and API solutions.
Join a high-performing technology team delivering commercial solutions within a major transportation environment. This role leads design, development, and integration of modernized Java API and microservices supporting commercial applications. The position offers exposure to strategic technology initiatives driving modernization and scalability within a fast-paced environment. Candidates will collaborate directly with technology and business stakeholders to deliver guest-focused applications.
Contract, Calgary, 3 days per week hybrid
Must Haves- Expert-level in Java
, Spring Framework
, and developing microservices and RESTful API solutions - Proven experience deploying API on Azure APIM following IaC principles
- Strong proficiency in GIT or Subversion version control environments
- Solid hands-on development within App Services
, Function
, and AKS - Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent
- Previous airline industry experience
- Plan and lead technical development across software sustainment streams and capital projects
- Design and develop robust, extensible code meeting business and technical requirements
- Collaborate with business stakeholders on design and functional specifications
- Provide accurate development estimates on effort, complexity, and technical risk
- Develop automated unit and integration tests for feature validation
- Lead code reviews, documentation, and release note creation for system components
- Partner with QA and operations teams to ensure code supportability and production stability
