This position has a hybrid work arrangement (approximately 1 day on-site per week, subject to change due to business priorities).
As ATB’s Director of Software Development, you will lead digital teams in building world-class applications for our clients. You will mentor developers, solve complex problems, and contribute hands-on when needed. You will act as a thought leader, influence strategy, and translate business plans into technical execution. The Director leads teams across the full software development lifecycle to design, develop, test, deliver, maintain, and improve applications supporting ATB user experiences and workflows.
Accountabilities- Vision & Strategy:
Steer the technical vision, set clear team goals, prioritize efforts, and develop channel-specific business plans with robust technical roadmaps. - People Leadership:
Build, motivate, and mentor high-performing, delivery-focused engineering teams while cultivating internal and external talent pipelines. - Innovation & Execution:
Identify, explore, and deploy new technologies from prototype to scale. - Collaboration:
Partner with product and business teams to ensure technical development aligns with corporate strategy and vision. - Technical Excellence:
Provide hands-on direction in software development and systems integration, manage project priorities and deliverables. - Continuous Improvement:
Drive initiatives to automate and optimize systems and tools to meet evolving needs.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related software field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 10+ years of experience in software development, operations, or similar.
- 5+ years managing engineers or leading a development team in an Agile environment.
- Deep understanding of modern software development practices and knowledge of AI tooling advancements.
- Decisive and self-directed; comfortable in a rapid-paced, changing environment.
- Experience with financial or security-focused technology is preferred but not required.
