Our energy industry client is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to assist with building out and advancing enterprise-wide generative AI systems for business transformation initiatives

Candidates will be working in-office 5 days/week in downtown Calgary

Must Haves

  • 8+ years of experience in software engineering or software development with experience in system design and architecture
  • Experience developing AI-native or agentic systems integrating generative AI
    , API
    s, and enterprise data
  • Proven track record delivering end‑to‑end solutions from design through production deployment
  • Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience

    • Nice to Have

  • Background in the energy or industrial sector environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience mentoring peers or leading development standards
  • Exposure to business transformation initiatives using AI technologies

    • Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver full‑stack AI‑native systems embedding generative AI within daily business workflows
  • Own solution lifecycle from initial problem definition through design, development, deployment, and improvement
  • Collaborate with domain experts to translate operational challenges into scalable software systems
  • Develop agentic architectures combining AI models, data pipelines, APIs, and databases
  • Design context and semantic layers making AI systems reliable and auditable
  • Integrate and optimize foundation models for production use, adapting them as technologies evolve
  • Mentor peers and elevate organizational AI maturity through hands‑on technical leadership
