    We tackle the toughest security and technology challenges by developing and delivering mission-critical products and systems for international customer. We delivery Tactical Communication Information Systems (CIS) to Land Forces around the world through Vehicle Prime Contractors for fighting and support vehicles. The hardware, software and systems integration that our engineers deliver on a daily basis ensure soldiers are never alone, and always aware.

    From headquarters to vehicles to the individual soldier, your work helps them accomplish their mission, while keeping them safe.

    We are looking for a Software Developer co-op to join our International TacCIS cross-disciplinary team delivering CIS solutions for armoured vehicles programs for European NATO nations.

    As a Software Developer co-op on the International TacCIS team, the responsibilities and range of activities will vary, but in general you can expect to:

    • Perform some design, analysis and test functions under the mentorship of more senior engineers.
    • Document analyses, designs and tests (e.g., tech notes, sections of requirements specifications, design documents, test plans and test reports) in the format prescribed by standard templates with the supervision of a more experienced engineer.
    • Implement software routines to meet software requirements.
    • Maintain code base in accordance with coding standards.
    • Some development and performance of integration test and debug of implementations.
    • Some development and performance of design verification test under the supervision of more senior engineers.
    • Investigate system problem reports and field incident reports; perform root cause and trend analyses;
    • Provide technical support during high-level integration and qualification testing.
    • Provide technical support to internal customers.
    • Present work at design reviews or other types of peer reviews.

    What You Need to Have to Succeed

    • Currently pursuing a University Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineer, Software Engineer, Computer Science or equivalent technical degree.
    • Experience working with or familiarity with AI/ML models is preferred

    It is a requirement that General Dynamics Mission Systems–Canada be registered with the Canadian Controlled Goods program and that all of its workforce be security assessed. Successful applicants must meet all applicable security requirements, including but not limited to the ability to obtain and maintain a Canadian government security clearance. Applicants may be required to meet additional security requirements in order to gain access to technical data, classified areas or information that is subject to international regulations.

    You must be eligible to work in Canada.

    Compensation

    The expected hourly rate for this position is $23.08 – $32.41.

    Final compensation will be determined based on your relevant work experience to date. As part of student placement, you will be eligible for quarterly pay increases.
