Build autonomous agents with Python engineering expertise for Outlier, working remotely as a freelance contributor on flexible schedules.
This freelance opportunity suits engineers with two or more years in backend engineering, AI automation, or complex systems integration. You will help train large language models to function as proactive, multi-step agents. Work includes evaluating agent behavior, debugging traces, and testing systems in live environments.
Key Responsibilities:- Write evaluation rubrics for autonomous agents
- Debug agent traces and identify system issues
- Stress test agents across complex interactions
- Provide clear technical feedback on system behaviors
- Help improve proactive, multi-step agent performance
- Two or more years of relevant experience
- Build and maintain production-grade modular software
- Handle live, non-mocked, multi-turn system interactions
- Demonstrate outstanding attention to detail
- Integrate agents with tools, APIs, or services
