Fitness Instructor 1 and 2, Yoga and Pilates

- Teach specific skills to participants through progressive physical fitness development and sharing of knowledge.
- Develop the design, plan, and resources for the program.
- Assess participant needs and provide adaptations as necessary.
- Ensure safety of participants.
- Prepare and maintain equipment, supplies, and program space.
- Maintain program records and assist with program evaluation.
- Minimum 18 years of age.
- Yoga Alliance or recognized Yoga Certificate (Fitness Alberta Mind Body Specialty) with a minimum of 200 hours of Yoga training; OR
- A minimum in Basic Mat Pilates training and 20 hours of practical teaching.
- Previous leadership and instructional expertise in yoga or Pilates.
- Level 2 Yoga Instructors require extensive leadership and instructional expertise in discipline.
- Demonstrated ability in assessing participant needs and determining adaptations as necessary.
- Strong communication skills along with demonstrated initiative, planning, and organizational skills.
- Sound judgment in safety standards and well‑developed customer service skills.
- Current Intermediate First Aid certification (equivalent to Standard First Aid, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) level "C", and Automated External Defibrillator (AED)) is required.
- A valid Security Clearance with Vulnerable Sector Search must be provided. Date of completion must be within the last 12 months.
- Successful applicants must provide proof of qualifications.
