Position Summary:

Reporting directly to the Site Manager, Fanning Centre, the Transportation Dispatcher is a supervisory position responsible for supporting the efficient operation of Transportation Services. This role requires a reliable, organized, and professional individual who will play a critical role in coordinating daily transportation activities, ensuring effective scheduling, maintaining clear communication with drivers, and supporting the timely delivery of services to clients and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and schedule daily transportation requests.
  • Dispatch drivers and monitor routes to ensure timely arrivals and departures.
  • Maintain clear and professional communication with drivers, site staff, and leadership.
  • Respond to scheduling changes, delays, and urgent transportation needs.
  • Track vehicle locations and adjust assignments as required.
  • Maintain accurate records of trips, incidents, and service logs.
  • Schedule vehicle maintenance.
  • Support compliance with safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support driver training and ongoing education and testing within the department.
  • Assist with reporting, data entry, and documentation as required.
Qualifications &

Experience:
  • Graduation from Grade 12 or equivalent is required (post‑secondary education in logistics, administration, or a related field is an asset).
  • Previous dispatch, transportation, logistics, or coordination experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and scheduling software.
  • Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Knowledge of local geography is an asset.
  • This position requires high attention to detail, initiative, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication skills and a professional demeanor are required; experience in a health care environment is an asset.
Working Conditions:
  • Office based position with frequent phone and computer use.
  • Occasional high‑pressure situations requiring quick decision making.
