Long Haul Truck Driver

Responsibilities

• Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy.
• Load and unload goods.
• Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials.
• Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment.
• Pay and receive payments for goods.
• Perform brake adjustments.
• Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle.
• Perform preventive maintenance.
• Receive and relay information to central dispatch.
• Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption.

• Education:
  
  Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
• Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses:
  Air Brake (Z) Endorsement;
  Driver's License (Class 1 or
  
  A).
• Valid passport; basic security clearance.
• Valid driver's licence; willing to travel cross-border, for extended periods and internationally.
• Attention to detail; sitting; personal suitability: judgement, reliability, team player.

• Early morning, evening, shift, morning, night, on call, weekend; overtime available.

• Will train.
