Cross dock- Sit down counterbalance operator

Overview

Are you the kind of forklift operator who knows exactly how LTL freight needs to sit on a trailer? We’re looking for a skilled Cross Dock Operator who thrives on independence to run the floor for a major transportation hub in SE Calgary.

We need a pro on the Sit-Down Counterbalance who doesn't need to be micromanaged. You’ll be hustling freight, balancing trailer weights, and keeping the dock flowing smoothly. Salary is $22.00 to $23.00 per hour with a steady Monday-to-Friday afternoon shift (2:00 PM to 10:30 PM).

Take ownership of the floor in a fast-paced SE Calgary transportation hub where spatial intelligence and freight expertise are respected. This role focuses on strategically engineering trailer loads, balancing weights, and maintaining a high-velocity dock flow.

• Safely operate a Sit-Down Counterbalance forklift to move LTL freight across the dock.
• Load and unload trailers, ensuring weight distribution is balanced.
• Work independently to prioritize shipments based on departure times.
• Scan and track freight using handheld devices to maintain inventory accuracy.
• Identify and report any damaged goods before they are loaded for transport.
• Maintain a clean and organized dock floor to ensure a safe transition for the morning crew.

• Valid Forklift Ticket/Certification (Required).
• Must be available for afternoon training before moving to the regular night shift.
• 1–2 years of experience operating a Sit-Down Counterbalance forklift.
• Previous experience with LTL (Less Than Truckload) freight is a major asset.
• CSA-approved steel-toed boots and high-visibility gear required.

• Certified Counterbalance Pro:
  Possess a valid, current forklift ticket and proven expertise operating a Sit-Down Counterbalance.
• LTL & Cross-Dock Expert:
  Hands-on cross-dock experience with understanding of how LTL freight must sit on a trailer.
• Self-Motivated & Autonomous:
  Thrives in independent roles with the hustle and reliability to run a dock solo.
• Calgary-Based Afternoon Closer:
  Reliable vehicle to commute to SE Calgary for a steady Monday-to-Friday, 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM shift earning $22.00 to $23.00/hour.
