Our team ensures each customer receives high‑quality, reliable, timely deliveries and superior customer service.

Position Overview

The Night Dispatcher / Shipper Receiver coordinates overnight transportation activities while supporting shipping, receiving, inventory control, and warehouse operations. This position serves as the primary point of contact for drivers during the night shift and ensures all freight is accurately received, prepared, documented, loaded, and dispatched for next‑day deliveries.

  • Shift: Night Shift – 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM (or as operationally required)
  • Week days:
    Monday night to Saturday morning
  • Pay Range: $26.47 – $32.86 per hour
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and monitor overnight transportation activities and delivery schedules.
  • Assign routes and communicate instructions to Class 1 and 5 Ton Drivers.
  • Monitor driver progress using TMS and GPS systems, including Samsara.
  • Respond to delivery issues, route changes, delays, accidents, or customer concerns.
  • Maintain accurate dispatch records, driver logs, and transportation documentation.
  • Communicate critical overnight updates to the daytime Dispatch and Operations teams.
  • Receive incoming shipments and verify product quantities and condition.
  • Prepare, pick, stage, and load customer orders for shipment.
  • Coordinate outbound freight and ensure shipping deadlines are met.
  • Complete shipping and receiving documentation accurately.
  • Verify customer invoicing, product dating, and shipment accuracy.
  • Monitor inventory movement and ensure accurate inventory records.
  • Assist with cycle counts and inventory investigations.
  • Report shortages, damages, discrepancies, and quality concerns promptly.
  • Maintain proper product rotation and storage practices.
  • Load and unload trucks safely using forklifts and power jacks.
  • Store products in designated warehouse and freezer locations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of warehouse areas.
  • Ensure all thermometers and temperature‑monitoring equipment are functioning properly.
  • Assist with maintenance and operational troubleshooting as required.
  • Provide professional service to drivers, customers, and internal departments.
  • Address delivery inquiries and communicate service updates effectively.
  • Support the company’s commitment to reliable and timely service.
  • Follow and promote all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with transportation, warehouse, food safety, and occupational health and safety requirements.
  • Participate in safety meetings, inspections, and incident investigations as required.
  • Use required PPE and maintain a secure work environment at all times.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of dispatching experience, shipping/receiving experience, or a combination of both.
  • Experience in transportation, logistics, warehousing, or food distribution preferred.
  • Forklift and Power Jack certification preferred.
  • Intermediate computer skills, including experience using Microsoft Office 365 applications for communication, data entry, reporting, and documentation.
  • Experience using Transportation Management Systems (TMS), including Samsara, is considered an asset.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Other Requirements
  • Ability to work overnight shifts on a regular basis.
  • Ability to work additional hours when operational requirements demand.
  • WHMIS certification.
  • First Aid certification is an asset.
