Role Description

The Motor Coach Operator is a full-time, on-site role based in Calgary, AB, responsible for safely operating motor coaches for charter and shuttle services across Alberta, British Columbia, Western Canada, and nearby U.S. destinations. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections, operating vehicles in a safe and defensive manner, and complying with all traffic laws, logbook requirements, and company safety policies.

The operator will assist passengers with boarding, luggage handling, and special needs, while providing polite, professional customer service throughout each trip. The role also includes monitoring road and weather conditions, planning routes and schedules as directed, maintaining a clean and comfortable coach interior, and promptly reporting mechanical issues or incidents to dispatch or maintenance staff. The Motor Coach Operator works closely with operations and customer service teams to ensure on-time performance and a positive travel experience for all passengers.

Qualifications
  • Strong commercial driving abilities, including experience with bus or motor coach operation and, ideally, truck driving in regional or long-distance contexts.
  • Proficient defensive driving skills with a proven focus on safety, situational awareness, and adherence to transportation regulations.
  • Background in driver training or a willingness to participate in ongoing coaching, safety programs, and skills development initiatives.
  • Excellent customer service skills, including courteous communication, conflict de-escalation, and a professional demeanor with diverse passenger groups.
  • Valid commercial driver’s license with appropriate endorsements for passenger transport, a clean driving record, and the ability to meet all medical and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and multi-day trips, as operational needs require.
  • Experience with cross-border travel or familiarity with interprovincial and U.S. driving regulations is an asset.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and the ability to work independently while representing the company’s values and service standards.
