Line Technician – Calgary

Full‑time permanent position supporting diverse operations in Calgary.

Description

The Line Technician is responsible for performing all facets of fueling, ramp, and cargo operations in a safe, efficient, and professional manner. The role operates fueling vehicles and ground support equipment required for fueling and servicing aircraft and completes accurate documentation while working within the Company’s protocols and guidelines.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, design and perform ramp services according to company standards, including aircraft loading/unloading, cargo and baggage services, marshalling and chocking aircraft, grooming aircraft including lavatory and potable water servicing.
  • Manage aircraft fuelling, movement, placement, and storage.
  • Conduct fuel movement and quality control activities, including sampling, testing, and documentation in accordance with company, customer, and regulatory standards.
  • Operate various types of ground service equipment.
  • Complete fueling records, inspection reports, maintenance logs, and other required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Monitor fuel inventories and assist with fuel receiving and storage operations.
  • Perform daily inspections, preventive maintenance checks, and defect reporting on fuel trucks, GSE, and fueling equipment.
  • Perform audits on handling, safety, security, cargo and aircraft handling as required.
  • Respond to fuel spills, emergency situations, and irregular operations in accordance with company procedures.
  • Clean GSE equipment, buildings, and fuel trucks.
  • Participate in and comply with the Company’s Health & Safety and Quality programs and initiatives, including recurrent training, safety meetings, toolbox talks, and operational audits.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, airport authority regulations, airline procedures, and Transport Canada requirements.
  • Maintain a tidy and orderly work area exhibiting pride in work performance and contributing to a healthy and safe work environment.
  • Provide exceptional, courteous, and respectful customer service.
  • Determine needed supplies and equipment.
  • Back‑up/support Ramp Agents as required.
  • Perform any other duties as required.
Experience and Qualifications
  • Previous experience in the aviation industry in a similar role is an asset.
  • Experience operating heavy equipment, fuel trucks, or commercial vehicles is an asset.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to identify equipment issues and report maintenance concerns.
  • Knowledge of aviation safety standards, fueling procedures, and dangerous goods regulations is an asset.
  • Minimum Class 5 Driver’s License – training will be provided.
  • Class 3 Driver’s License with Air Brake Endorsement is an asset.
  • Ability to obtain a Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC) – required.
  • Clean Driver’s Abstract – required.
  • First Aid and CPR training is an asset.
  • Must work in all types of weather conditions, including inclement weather.
  • Physical requirements include arms, legs, climbing, lifting up to 60 lbs repeatedly, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.
  • Must work shift work, weekends, overtime and statutory holidays.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic mathematics, troubleshooting skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally.
  • A strong work ethic and positive team attitude, with demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Punctual, reliable, and diligent.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a productive member of the EFC Team.
