Responsibilities

  • Complete checklist and submit daily.
  • Check that truck is kept in optimum operating condition by reporting all repair requirements to Fleet Mechanic without delay.
  • Drive and operate 1-ton flat bed truck.
  • Drive and operate vehicle with bumper pull trailer.
  • Exercise reasonable care in truck operation.
  • Adhere to all applicable safety rules and regulations.
  • Obtain job assignment, address and location and confirm best routing to designated areas.
  • Haul trash material to landfill.
  • Disposing of materials: dump in designated area, clean vehicle after dumping when necessary.
  • Physically capable to load equipment and tooling by hand (fence panels, signage, etc.).
  • Submit daily activity report, haul tickets and purchase receipts.
  • Pick up and haul materials and aggregate from suppliers to job sites.
  • Other duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years hauling materials and equipment – truck driving experience in city limits.
  • Must have class 5 Drivers Licence.
  • Proven care and diligence with good safety record.
  • Applicants must have a current clean 5 years Driver’s Abstract in good standing with minimal demerits.
  • Understanding of legislation and regulations in transportation.
  • Previous experience is an asset.
  • Valid Driver’s License and Driver’s abstract in good standing.
  • Minimum 2000 hours experience in similar or same equipment.
Additional Qualifications
  • Planning skills for scheduling and project documentation.
  • Promotion of safe work practices.
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
