CSA - Baggage U, YYC (Part Time)

The Baggage Service Agentplaysa vital role in delivering exceptional guest experiences by ensuringa high levelof customer service upon arrival. You act as a key liaison between guests and their property, taking ownership of reuniting travelers with their delayed baggage.

Youwillcoordinate the expedited delivery of delayed baggage by working closely with West Jet bases, Central Baggage Services, other airlines, couriers, customs agencies, and guests to ensuretimelyandaccuratereturns.

Responsibilities:

• Act as Arrivals Agent for all guest inquiries (both in person and by telephone), and direct guests accordingly (oversize area, international connections,etc).
• Initiate delayed baggage investigation and damage baggage assessment, and establishment of delay/damage reports for mishandled guest baggage.
• Lift/Move baggage up to 50lbsfrom carousels and between areas of the airport.
• Minimize baggage mishandling through proactive communication with various touchpoints to ensure efficient routing
• Track arriving flight details andmonitoringbaggage carousels, recording particulars into dailylog.
• Monitor inbound arrival times and ensure Flight Information Display System is accurate.
• Communicate with ground handlersregardingall departing/arriving baggage, arranging for baggage sweeps (pit,cartand ramp).
• Ensure proper security measures are followed for in-bond baggage (International) and manage customs processing and storage.
• Proactively re-route baggage.
• Receive and process airsideexpeditebaggage.
• Coordinate baggage swaps and manage bulk outs during IROP flights.
• Investigate, update delayed baggage reports, andcontactingguests with any updates on open delayed baggage reports.
• Manage lost item reports andfounditem inventory.

Experience and qualifications:

• 1 year airport experience is an asset
• Intermediate skills in Microsoft applications (Word,Exceland Outlook) and Airport computer systems.
• Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional guest service.
• Proven ability to work with minimal supervision, problem solve, de-escalatesituationsand take responsibility foraccomplishingtasks within timeliness.
• Proven ability to adapt to procedural changes.
• Candidates must be proficient in reading the English language as one requirement to be successful in the completion of training.
