Our Kirby Lake Aerodrome location is seeking an experienced Airfield Operator / Ramp Agent Level 2 to support our diverse operations. This full-time rotational position with a 14 days on and 14 days off shift schedule. Flights and accommodation are provided, with travel available from our designated hub locations of Calgary and Edmonton.
DescriptionThe Airfield Operator Level 2 / Ramp performs all equipment operations including aircraft ground handling, refueling, airfield maintenance, and de/anti-icing activities. The position serves as a senior operator, utilizing advanced operational knowledge and experience to support safe and efficient aerodrome operations, provide guidance and mentorship to Level 1 operators, and assist with the coordination of daily operational activities. The Airfield Operator Level 2 / Ramp reports to the Aerodrome Supervisor.
Responsibilities- Operate aerodrome equipment according to EFC and CNRL operating and safety standards and policies.
Responsibilities include:
Ensuring all aspects of the airfield are properly maintained, in all weather conditions, and all equipment and facilities are in good working order;
Performing aircraft de/anti-icing, aircraft marshalling, aircraft refueling and aircraft ground handling services;
Conducting passenger check-in services;
Operating and maintaining light equipment (e.g. tractors, snow blowers, utility vehicles, etc.);
Conducting airfield maintenance for snow removal, wildlife control, and vegetation control;
Conducting runway inspections;
Performs advanced equipment operation, troubleshooting, and problem resolution;
Reporting maintenance concerns (e.g. lighting, fencing, drainage, etc.) to the Aerodrome Supervisor;
Performing housekeeping duties, including cleaning of the GSE shop and terminal building. - Ensure all legislative, industry and customer standards are adhered to including Transport Canada, Occupational Health and Safety and CNRL's safety and site regulations.
- Follow standard operating procedures per EFC operating manuals, setting the highest standard of performance.
- Acts as a mentor/trainer for Level 1 operators.
- Assists in the onboarding and practical training of new Airfield Operator employees.
- Assists the Aerodrome Supervisor with day-to-day operational coordination and task execution.
- Provides day-to-day operational guidance and support during Aerodrome Supervisor absences.
- Takes a lead role in airfield condition assessments and operational decision-making.
- Ensure all customer complaints are addressed and handled professionally, leaving the customer with a positive resolution.
- Provide services after hours on an on-call/as-needed basis.
- General support activities related to Aerodrome Operations.
- Perform work at any other EFC Aerodrome locations as required.
- Maintain a tidy and orderly work area, exhibiting pride in work performance and contributing to a healthy and safe work environment.
- Ensure exceptional, courteous and respectful customer service.
- Comply with and participate in EFC's Health, Safety & Environment and Quality programs and initiatives.
- Perform any other duties as required.
