Winter Highway Maintenance Worker

Join Volker Stevin as a Seasonal Highway Maintenance Worker in Calgary, AB, ensuring road safety from October through April. Engage in vital outdoor maintenance tasks, even in challenging conditions.

Reporting to the Foreman, this seasonal role is key for highway safety and functionality. Responsibilities include managing signage, responding to emergencies, and maintaining necessary documentation while actively promoting a culture of safety and compliance with regulations in diverse weather scenarios.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement traffic control measures during maintenance

• Maintain up-to-date logs and safety records

• Safely operate in high-traffic areas and adverse conditions

• Conduct inspections and servicing of equipment regularly

• Use heavy machinery as required to fulfill project needs

Requirements:

• Valid Class 3 or 1 Driver’s License with clean driver’s abstract

• Experience operating various equipment is beneficial

• Preferable 50+ hours of snowplow operation experience

• Willingness to work night shifts and on-call shifts

• Pass pre-employment drug and fit for work tests
