Transit Operations Dispatcher

Keep transit service ready by coordinating vehicles, maintenance, assignments, and staffing as a regular part-time Transit Dispatcher. Work scheduled shifts in Red Deer.
The City of Red Deer needs a dispatcher for general dispatch duties and daily operational readiness. This position coordinates equipment availability, communicates breakdowns and repairs, and identifies issues for supervisors. It also supports payroll tracking, reports, safety programs, and facility security.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure staffing and equipment meet daily service requirements
Communicate breakdowns, repair requests, and scheduled maintenance
Coordinate parking, equipment requirements, and supply requests
Open or close the Transit Operations Building securely
Support safety inspections, reporting, training, and hazard assessments
Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent
General knowledge of business office functions
Ability to follow direction and work independently
Ability to decide quickly during stressful situations
Understanding of municipal bylaws, policies, and procedures
Bring operational coordination, safety awareness, and clear communication to Transit Operations as the City of Red Deer dispatcher.
