MEL Specialist Aviation Operations

Apply MEL expertise with Sunwest Aviation Ltd. in Calgary, maintaining approved aircraft documentation for a diverse charter fleet. This is a part-time position.

Reporting to the Director of Flight Operations, the MEL Specialist ensures current Transport Canada-approved MELs across Sunwest Aviation’s fleet. The work supports jets, turboprops, and piston aircraft through controlled documentation updates. Candidates should bring commercial piloting experience, organization, and Microsoft Word knowledge.

• Create MELs for new aircraft types entering the fleet
• Amend MELs after aircraft additions and modifications
• Update MELs when regulations require changes
• Review Transport Canada revisions, supplements, and addendums
• Maintain electronic and hard-copy Weight and Balance documentation

• High School Diploma
• Five or more years as a commercial pilot
• Previous aircraft maintenance experience considered an asset
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Word
• Good organizational skills
