SCOPEWith a great “can-do” attitude and good physical condition, you will be assembling orders for customers, assisting with incoming products and merchandise and assisting with housekeeping, maintenance and cleanliness of the warehouse area. This position reports to the Lead Hand Shipping/Receiving.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Product Handling, Sorting and Delivery
- Assist with day-to-day operations in the warehouse, as directed by management.
- Loads and unloads products and materials to and from transport vehicles, either by hand or using basic material handling equipment.
- Operates a variety of equipment for the purposes of loading, unloading and moving materials and products, including a forklift.
- Itemizes, reviews and assesses returned products and/or incoming products.
- Ensures quality control on all products leaving the warehouse.
- Packs and unpacks goods.
- Organizes and stacks goods into shelving racks for efficient retrieval.
- Administration
- Assimilates orders & requests.
- Prepares orders for shipping.
- Completes bills of lading/invoices.
- Housekeeping and Maintenance
- Helps maintain the cleanliness of the warehouse area, including sweeping and cleaning up any spills, and keeping the aisles clean and clear of any debris.
- Establishes scheduled equipment inspections and maintenance, including daily safety checks.
- Safety
- Ensures the safe operation of equipment in and around the warehouse.
- Ensures that staff and co-workers operate safely.
- Identifies work‑place safety hazards and advises the Supervisor.
- Performs regular safety checks.
- Adheres to all company policies, safety practices and initiatives.
- Leadership and Teamwork
- Works closely with employees in other departments.
- Assists with promoting a positive team atmosphere.
- Assists with ensuring efficient collaboration of all staff in the warehouse to achieve our desired goals and results.
- Qualifications
- Forklift license is required.
- Comfort in loading trailers and picking product from all levels of the racking.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to follow directions.
- Good physical condition with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg’s) continually.
