Yard Hand

• Responsible for all yard operations, safety, and housekeeping
• Ensure proper procedures are followed for accessing and departing the yard
• Ensure high level of customer service both for truck drivers and customers
• Direct and control all activities in the yard
• Maintain high level of product quality
• Work towards achieving company objectives regarding productivity, customer service
• Ensure adherence to all company and safety policies and procedures
• Ensure a positive and safe work environment
• Other duties as required

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

• Reliable, ability to carry out tasks correctly while under pressure
• Be able to work in a fast paced environment
• Ability to follow instructions meticulously
• Demonstrated ability to work unsupervised
• Team player, adaptable, energetic with a positive professional attitude
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Problem solver and able to deal with product and people issues that may occur

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

• Previous Yard experience
  - min 2 years
• Knowledge of plumbing and/or electrical industry products will be considered an asset
• Forklift Experience an asset
• First Aid Certificate an asset
