What You’ll Do- Coordinate all activities related to procurement of a commodity from intent to purchase through delivery.
- Analyze the requirements of the commodity, including preliminary specifications, preferred supplier, and date commodity as needed.
- Solicit and evaluate proposals; investigate or interview potential suppliers to determine if they meet the specified requirements.
- Advise team members or management on the appropriate supplier to be used.
- Negotiate the lowest possible cost for the commodity balanced against optimum quality and schedule needs.
- Implement purchase contracts that comply with company and government regulations.
- Ensure commodity delivery on schedule, at the negotiated price, and at the required quality, maintaining timely control of orders, amendments, shipping notices, and other documents.
- Coordinate appropriate methods for cost‑effective distribution of commodity.
- Maintain contact with internal partners to determine short‑ and long‑term demand.
- Perform other duties as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent education and/or experience.
- 2–4 years of relevant experience or equivalent education and/or experience.
- Strong knowledge of technical, process, and business principles, industry practices, and standards.
- Excellent communication, problem solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
- High level of integrity and discretion handling sensitive and confidential data.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products.
