New Surgicalist Physician Locums Job in Georgia Our client in Georgia is searching for a Surgicalist to work a 7-day stretch one week per month starting in February through the end of July. The ideal candidate will be available one week per month to fulfill the opening. Please review details below and reach out to Shannon to learn more. Coverage need: 7 consecutive day of 24-hour call per month (Monday AM - Monday AM preferred) Details/Requirements for Assignment :

- Active Board Certification and license required - Coverage needed starting in February through the end of July - While on call you will take 1st call to support emergency and urgent care. You will work alongside 5 other general surgeons covering elective surgical cases, clinic responsibilities and endoscopic procedures during daytime hours. They can also assist with emergencies or urgent needs as they arise.

- You will cover two campuses one has 69 beds one 42 beds, but patients are typically transferred (the hospitals are 30 minutes apart) to avoid the surgeons having to travel - Cases:
Laparoscopic appendectomy (often performed the following day when clinically appropriate), Laparoscopic cholecystectomy (often performed the following day when clinically appropriate), Incision and debridement, including necrotizing fasciitis, GI lab cases such as food impaction, exploratory laparotomy for various indications, incarcerated hernia repair, perianal abscess. Endoscopy procedures is highly preferred.

- Call is typically low, and there may be opportunity for elective endoscopy cases to be completed during the day.
