Senior Department Finance Specialist - Planning & ZoningThe Senior Department Finance Specialist will work closely with other county accountants and operations personnel to assist with all financial tasks in the Planning, Zoning, & Community Development Department, including processing of all accounts payable invoices and deposits, receipts, account reconciliation, journal entries, grant funds, budget development, purchase card tracking, and payroll.
Duties Include:
- Payroll processing and submission.
- Invoice and P-Card Processing.
- Grant invoice and reimbursement processing.
- Department staff training and travel and expense processing
High school diploma. Experience working with payroll, accounts payable and general accounting functions. Working knowledge of current bookkeeping/accounting principles and practices. Knowledge of federal and State payroll regulations. Ability to learn and apply advanced accounting principles and make complex and varied mathematical computations rapidly and accurately. Ability to learn and navigate County’s MUNIS system. Ability to work well with a wide variety of people, to include State and County officials, employees, vendors and with the general public.
Proficient personal computer skills, including skills in spreadsheet, databases and words processing software. Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to handle confidential information. Valid Driver’s License. Must be able to pass background check and drug screening.
